Ok, so I am getting an English saddle because the horse i just got goes either way and English always seemed like fun. Does anyone know how to find your size for an Enlgish saddle? There are things like- 16.5, 17, 18, and stuff like that for the seat. I know what size my horse is, but how do you find out what fits you?

What do you ride in western? Normally you can "Start" by adding 2" to the size you use in western but each brand/modle is different. Sometimes you might use a 17" in one saddle but in another need a 17.5 or 18". Also you have to look at the flap. If you have really long or short legs you will need a longer or shorter flap. Ideally you should sit in a few saddles. This will give you an idea of seat size, seat width, length of flap and how farward the flap needs to be for you. I have ridden in a number of english saddles, mostly dressage and AP and each one is different. Some I could handle, some I couldn't.
