Hello everyone! Need help again!!

A friend has a horse

looks easy at the first glance, but in fact he has quite a broad withers

At the same time by templates he is somewhere in between regular and full bars

We tried a Rocking R arab saddle on him, but it didn't sit on him at all and was slipping down from this withers "bump"

and of course it bridged.

Is there any kind of saddle that would fit this horse? Are gaited?tennessee saddles made like this? It looks like he needs a wider gullet with a smaller angle, with bars also rising more up at the withers... What kind of saddle should we look for?

Thanks!!!

Did you try the 7" normal angle template?

It looks like it may fit and if so a saddle with FQHB should be pretty close.

Mmmm... I thought all Normal templates correspond to Regular QH bars? And Wide templates are for FQH bars? We tried 7" wide template - and it fits the same as 7,5". And I think Normal angle of any width would be a little too small... I'm not sure - may be he needs a higher raise of the bars in front?

Checked a 7,5 Normal/Narrow template - it fits better! (But I don't know what saddles correspond to that! Also, it's still unclear if the saddle won't get stuck on this withers...)

This looks like a good fit. A saddle with FQHB should work for you. I would contact the saddle shop directly and discuss it with them.
