Spring is approaching and I want to remind everyone how important it is to wear your helmet. You never know when you might come off your horse and a helmet can make the difference between a little hurt pride and a terrible accident. A local TV morning show had a live cutaway to a reporter that does all the goofy stuff and he was at a riding facility yesterday. There was an "instructor" and a couple of girls riding around in a circle and then this reporter who obviously hadn't been on a horse before. NONE of them had helmets. I haven't had a chance to email the station but it's on my list to do this week.

I never understood why people seem to have a habit of shunning helmets. Not just on horses, but bikes as well.
