Hi Chuck, my sister bought a used saddle that has Wallace Stevens, maker, Phoenix, AZ stamped on a tab under the cantle. It's a roping saddle. How can I figure out whether its semi or full quarter horse bars? She wants to sell it.

It is more the angles of the bar that determines whether it is a FQHB or Semi QH bar. I would recommend downloading the templates at http://www.dailyequine.com/Expert/askexpert.asp and use the insides of the templates to see which fits under the saddle best. The two most common to start with are the 6.5" Normal (semi qh) and 7" Wide (FQHB).
