Hi all,
<<help me please!>>

I'm thoroughly confused!
I ordered a Clinton Anderson aussie saddle.. it's on it's way.
I'm worried about the size they advised me to get.
I currently ride in a 15" western.
It's pretty roomy.. my 4 year old can sit in front of me.. we're a little tight in there, but not bad.
I'm a beginner ride and don't have good balance and had heard that the roomier the seat you need good balance because you will slide around.
If I ride for an hour all the sliding that I do in the seat I will get blisters.. isn't that a sign that my saddle is to big?
Downunder Horsemanship advised that a 14" went to 150 lbs.
I advised back that I was 5'8" and weighed 125 lbs.
She said I was tall and tiny and would need a 14".
The more I think about it.. the more I'm scare of that 14".
Do you think this'll be too small?
Yikes.. I'll be so disappointed if the saddle doesn't fit and have to send it back for another size at $50 for shipping.
Thanks for your input,
Denise

Welcome 435
I'm no expert (thats Chuck's title) but a 14" in an aussie does sound a little small if au runs about 2 sizes more than a western. A 14" western would be close but that would make the aussie have to be a 16.
Am I right guys

It might depend on how they measure it. If they are measuring it more like a western then a 14" should be a 14" western. I thought that the one that anderson backed was kind of a cross between Aussie and Western.

You could just head to a tack store that has a 14" and try it out.

Hi all,
Received the saddle tonight and it fits perfectly.
So comfortable I can't believe it.
I'm so excited I just had to share.
Have a good night all,

Oops.. forgot a couple things.
The saddle is a cross between and aussie and western.
Aussie in the front.. knee pads and free swinging fenders.
Western in the back.
They told me that it does run a littel bigger than a western saddle and it does.
I order a 14" and it actually measures 14.5".
I love the smell of leather
