Well, my blood work came back not good last week. They had me do another cat scan last Wed. and they found a 1 1/4cm spot that they are suspicious of. I go this Wed. for a needle biopsy to see if it is the cancer still growing through chemo treatments, or just post-op changes. If it is the cancer they will change my chemo treatments, if not we continue as usual and will re-check my blood work. Send up a prayer for me.

Here's good vibes from someone else with medical problems in the family! All this time that I've been having family medical problems, I was thinking about you. I'll say an extra prayer for you, tonight. Tomorrow is the family consultation with my father-in-law's cancer specialist... blood relations only, so I'm not allowed.

Chin up, girlfriend, you'll beat this.

Well, after hours of sitting, waiting, blood work....etc. they decided NOT to do the biopsy. They said because of the location it would be too dangerous and difficult to get to. There was a risk of puncturing my colon or bladder, PLUS they said they would have to go through my BACK to get to it..........and that could cause possible nerve damage. Soooooooo....they have a different test scheduled for Monday, something called a "pet scan?" Sort of like a cat scan, but more thorough I guess. So more waiting......

Oh man...I'm so sorry. The waiting is the hardest part. They did a lung biopsy on my Dad and they didn't knock him out for it. Very painful. I'm glad you didn't have it. I've heard of the pet scan and I think it's not invasive. I'm sorry you have to wait over the weekend. Maybe it will be nice and you can get out for some equine therapy....they say the outside of a horse is good for the inside of a person! I believe it! And that is just more time for more prayers to be said for you...Hang in there!

Had the pet scan Monday, and went to the doctor today. It is a new cancer growth, so they are changing my chemo medication. I have to have an ultrasound done of my heart Monday so they can monitor any changes since this med. can cause heart damage. I start the new chemo next Wed. On the plus side, my hair will grow back and the side effects are not as bad with this drug. My doctor said it is rare that someone goes into remission from one treatment, and told me not to get discouraged.

Awww shoot, sorry about the bad news but it's great that you're looking at the positives (the hair/side effects)! You can beat this, keep your chin up and tell your horses to give you extra hugs from us !

I spent time with my best friend this morning. She's had to deal with thyroid cancer, a double mastectomy, and several other surgeries not related to cancer. Now, they've found more cancer, and she gets her biopsy results today. As you can imagine, she's very scared. Melissa, I've asked her to pray for you; would you mind keeping her in your prayers? Thanks everyone.
