Hi Chuck.
I finally got the cut-outs on cardboard and near as I can tell I need a 7" normal/narrow angle saddle.

The one I have is a TexFlex barrel saddle and appears to be a 6.5" normal / narrow angle. It puts too much pressure on his withers and leaves dry spots which semm to smaller when I use a thinner pad. I have a 7" wide tree Simco pleasure saddle that sits too low on his withers.
Hook is about 16.2 well muscled quarter horse and to give you an idea of size he uses a 42" cinch.

Do you have a 7" normal / narrow Tex Flex barrel saddle or what do you reommend? Do you ship to Canada?

Thanks in advance

Ed.

Hi Ed, Tex Tan does not make a barrel saddle with flex tree, 7" gullet and normal angle. The only list of saddles we have to offer is at http://tinyurl.com/cx7g2

Don't know what size seat you need, but there are no 16" barrel saddles that would fit the bill.

A 15" seat is fine. Do you ship to Canada and if so what is the freight cost?

Thanks

Chuck;

Just where do you measure the gullet.
My local tack shop contacted Tex Tan and they say the gullet on the Tex Flex Barrel saddle is 6 - 3/4 and confirmed that they do not make it with a 7" gullet even though my wife's Tex Flex pleasure saddle is 7".

He also contacted Circle Y and they said their the barrel saddle is also only 6-3/4.

Below is a picture of a TexFlex barrel saddle presently on E-Bay showing the measurement and claims it is 6-3/4 gullet. Just where do you measure the gullet?

Looks like a 6 3/4" raw, 6 1/2" finished gullet (I would list it on my site as a 6.5" gullet. Saddle makers and saddle dealers speak in different languages.

I've never heard of Tex Tan making a 7" flex tree saddle.
